Lodge Area Accommodations

The White House Area

The “White House”, the main lodge, is a gracious columned southern colonial style lodge on the shore of Lac Beauchêne that exemplifies old Southern charm. Born from a Kentucky distillery fortune “Club Beauchêne” was a family summer home built in 1924. The White House went through extensive renovations in 2001, expanding the facility while maintaining the original character capturing awards for the best accommodations for an outfitter in the province of Quebec. It is the heart of Lac Beauchêne and a central meeting point for all guests. The main lodge houses the dining room, meeting room and lounge as well as several comfortable bedrooms with two and three beds, each with a three-piece bathroom. There is an ice-maker available for use of guests and, like each of the other American Plan facilities, a refrigerator for our guests’ beverages. Coffee, tea and snacks are always freely available. Surrounding the White House are four log cabins, a more spacious and private alternative to the White House. These cabins will accommodate two to ten people. No need to drive, all of these cabins are situated a short walk from the main lodge. Conveniently located just steps from the White House are the main docks and boat launch, as well as reception and a Pro Shop for all the fishing essentials. The lounge offers guests a beautiful stone fireplace, bar, satellite television and pool table, making it the perfect spot to relax with a drink after a great day on the water. There is even a computer with internet access provided to allow our guests to keep in touch with the outside world. The dining room and lounge areas of the White House are wheelchair accessible and washrooms are equipped for special needs.

Quiet campground

For campers, Beauchêne’s “Bear Bay Campground” is a lovely wooded site with a beautiful beach about ten miles from the Lodge. It is located on the north side of Bear Bay near the east end of Lake Beauchêne where it enjoys the prevailing onshore wind. The campground is approximately 35 kilometers from Temiscaming and is accessible by automobile by way of the Maniwaki road. It is beautifully wooded with pine and other trees and is restricted to 5 well-spaced campsites, each of which has a picnic table and fronts on the lake. A lovely sand beach runs along the whole shoreline in front of the campground. Amenities include a bath house with hot and cold water, showers and flush toilets which make camping here a little more civilized. Our campers usually bring their own boats which may be launched at the campground. Our floating dock will simplify loading up for your fishing excursions. Larger boats should be put in at the concrete ramp at the Lodge as Bear Bay has no boat launch or hook ups. This campground is restricted to a small number of tents or camper trailers, so call ahead – Reservations are required! An access map will be provided with your reservation confirmation.
